Description:

The TPS5683x is a high-efficiency, easy-to-use,synchronous buck converter with a wide input voltagerange of 4.5V to 28V. The device supports up to 8Acontinuous output current at output voltages between0.6V and 13V.The TPS5683x uses D-CAP3 control mode toprovide fast transient response, good line and loadregulation, no requirement for external compensation,and supports low equivalent series resistance (ESR)output capacitors like MLCC.The TPS56837 operates at Eco-mode to attain highefficiency at light load. The TPS56838 operates inforced continuous conduction mode which maintainslower output ripple during all load conditions. TheTPS56836 operates in Out-of-Audio mode to avoidaudible noise.The TPS5683x has three selectable switchingfrequencies, 500kHz, 800kHz, and 1200kHz,and selectable current limit through MODE pinconfiguration. The TPS5683x has adjustable soft-starttime by connecting the SS capacitor and with default1.8ms with the SS pin floating.The TPS5683x provides complete non-latched OV(overvoltage), UV (undervoltage), OC (overcurrent),OT (overtemperature) and UVLO (undervoltagelockout) protections combined with power-goodindicator and output discharge function features.The TPS5683x is available in a 10-pin, 3.0mm ×3.0mm, HotRod QFN package, and the junctiontemperature is specified from –40°C to 150°C.
