Description:
The LM1117 is a low-dropout linear regulator (LDO) featuring a dropout voltage of 1.2V at 800mA of load current. It is available in both adjustable and fixed voltage options. The adjustable version allows the output voltage to be set between 1.25V and 13.8V using just two external resistors. The device also offers fixed output voltages of 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V. The LM1117 incorporates current limiting and thermal shutdown protection for enhanced reliability. A zener-trimmed bandgap reference ensures output voltage accuracy within ±1%. To improve transient response and ensure stability, a minimum 10µF tantalum capacitor is required on the output.
