ROHM KXTJ3-1057

The KXTJ3-1057 is a high-performance, tri-axis silicon micromachined accelerometer from ROHM, built on Kionix's proprietary plasma micromachining process technology. It provides user-selectable full-scale ranges of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, or ±16g, making it suitable for a wide variety of motion-sensing applications. Acceleration detection is based on differential capacitance sensing, which employs common-mode cancellation to minimize errors caused by process variations, temperature changes, and environmental stress. The sense element is hermetically sealed at the wafer level using a glass frit bonding process, ensuring long-term reliability.

Product Description:

The KXTJ3-1057 is a tri-axis ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, or ±16g siliconmicromachined accelerometer. The sense element is fabricated usingKionix’s proprietary plasma micromachining process technology.Acceleration sensing is based on the principle of a differentialcapacitance arising from acceleration-induced motion of the senseelement, which further utilizes common mode cancellation to decreaseerrors from process variation, temperature, and environmental stress.The sense element is hermetically sealed at the wafer level by bondinga second silicon lid wafer to the device using a glass frit. A separateASIC device packaged with the sense element provides signalconditioning and digital communications. The accelerometer isdelivered in a 2 x 2 x 0.9 mm LGA plastic package operating from a 1.71V – 3.6V DC supply. Voltageregulators are used to maintain constant internal operating voltages over the range of input supply voltages.This results in stable operating characteristics over the range of input supply voltages and virtuallyundetectable ratiometric error. The I2C digital protocol is used to communicate with the chip to configurethe part and monitor outputs.
