MAXIM MAX17505ATP+T STOCK

The MAX17505ATP+T is a high-efficiency, high-voltage, synchronous step-down DC-DC converter from Maxim Integrated (Analog Devices), featuring dual integrated MOSFETs and operating over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 60V. It delivers up to 5A of output current with an adjustable output voltage from 0.9V to 90% of VIN. The device incorporates internal compensation, eliminating the need for external compensation components and simplifying design across the entire output voltage range. Feedback (FB) regulation accuracy over -40°C to +125°C is ±1.1%. The converter employs a peak-current-mode control architecture with a MODE feature that allows operation in PWM (constant frequency at all loads), PFM (high light-load efficiency with pulse skipping), or DCM (constant frequency down to lighter loads without negative inductor current) control schemes. PWM operation provides constant frequency operation for switching-frequency-sensitive applications.

General Description:

The MAX17504/MAX17504S high-efficiency, highvoltage, synchronously rectified step-down converter withdual integrated MOSFETs operates over a 4.5V to 60Vinput. It delivers up to 3.5A and 0.9V to 90% VIN outputvoltage. Built-in compensation across the output voltagerange eliminates the need for external components. Thefeedback (FB) regulation accuracy over -40°C to +125°Cis ±1.1%. The device is available in a compact (5mm x5mm) TQFN lead (Pb)-free package with an exposed pad.Simulation models are available.The device features a peak-current-mode controlarchitecture with a MODE feature that can be used tooperate the device in pulse-width modulation (PWM),pulse-frequency modulation (PFM), or discontinuousmode (DCM) control schemes. PWM operation providesconstant frequency operation at all loads, and is usefulin applications sensitive to switching frequency. PFMoperation disables negative inductor current andadditionally skips pulses at light loads for high efficiency.DCM features constant frequency operation down tolighter loads than PFM mode, by not skipping pulses,but only disabling negative inductor current at light loads.DCM operation offers efficiency performance that liesbetween PWM and PFM modes. The MAX17504S offersa lower minimum on-time that allows for higher switchingfrequencies and a smaller solution size.A programmable soft-start feature allows users to reduceinput inrush current. The device also incorporates anoutput enable/undervoltage lockout pin (EN/UVLO) thatallows the user to turn on the part at the desired inputvoltage level. An open-drain RESET pin provides adelayed power-good signal to the system upon achievingsuccessful regulation of the output voltage.
