STMicroelectronics STBB1-APUR

The STBB1-APUR from STMicroelectronics is a fixed frequency, high-efficiency buck-boost DC-DC converter capable of delivering output voltages from 1.2V to 5.5V with input voltages ranging from 2.0V to 5.5V. The device seamlessly handles input voltages that are higher than, equal to, or lower than the output voltage, making it ideal for single-cell Li-Ion, multicell alkaline, or NiMH applications where the output voltage falls within the battery voltage range. Integrated low-RDS(on) N-channel and P-channel MOSFET switches contribute to its high efficiency, typically exceeding 94%. A mode pin allows selection between auto mode (for power savings at light loads) and forced PWM mode (for better dynamic performance). Operating at a 1.5MHz switching frequency, the device includes soft-start control, thermal shutdown, current limit, and a shutdown current of less than 1µA. The STBB1-APUR is packaged in a DFN10 (3 x 3 mm) package.

The device can operate with input voltages higher than, equal to, orlower than the output voltage making the product suitable for single lithium-Ion,multicell alkaline or NiMH applications where the output voltage is within the batteryvoltage range. The integrated low-RDS(on) N-channel and P-channel MOSFETswitches contribute to its high efficiency. The mode pin allows the selection betweenauto mode and forced PWM mode thus taking benefit either of lower powerconsumption or better dynamic performance.
