Description:
The ULx200xA devices are high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistor arrays. Each device consists of seven NPN Darlington pairs that feature high-voltage outputs with common-cathode clamp diodes for switching inductive loads. The collector-current rating of a single Darlington pair is 500 mA. Parallel connection of Darlington pairs allows higher current capability. Applications include relay drivers, hammer drivers, lamp drivers, display drivers (LED and gas discharge), line drivers, and logic buffers. For the 100 V version (other interchangeable) of the ULx2003A device, refer to the SLRS023 data sheet for the SN75468 and SN75469 devices. The ULN2002A device is specifically designed for 14 V to 25 V PMOS devices. This device features a series zener diode and resistor at each input to keep the input current within a safe range. The ULx2003A devices feature a 2.7 kΩ series base resistor per Darlington pair for direct operation with TTL or 5 V CMOS devices. The ULx2004A devices feature a 10.5 kΩ series base resistor for direct operation from CMOS devices that use a 6 V to 15 V supply voltage. The ULx2004A devices require less input current than the ULx2003A devices and require less voltage than the ULN2002A devices.
