MaxLinea SP3485EN-L/TR Datesheet

The SP3485EN-L/TR is a +3.3V low power half-duplex transceiver designed for RS-485 and RS-422 serial communication. Manufactured with Exar's BiCMOS process, this device offers low power consumption without compromising performance. It is pin-to-pin compatible with the SP485 and other industry-standard 7576 pinout devices. The SP3485 operates from a single +3.3V supply while remaining interoperable with +5.0V logic. It supports data rates up to 10Mbps and allows up to 32 transceivers on the same serial bus. Additional features include driver/receiver enable functions, a common-mode input voltage range of -7V to +12V, and driver output short-circuit protection. This device is ideal for industrial control, building automation, and other noise-immune, long-distance communication systems.

DESCRIPTION:

The SP3485 device is a +3.3V low power half-duplex transceiver that meets the specifications of the RS-485 and RS-422 serial protocols. This device is pin-to-pin compatible withthe Exar SP48, SP483 and SP485 devices as well as popular industry standards. TheSP3485 features the Exar BiCMOS process, allowing low power operation without sacrificingperformance. The SP3485 can meet the electrical specifications of the RS-485 and RS-422serial protocols up to 0Mbps under load.
