Description:
The LM5012 non-synchronous buck converter isdesigned to regulate over a wide input voltage range, minimizing the need for external surge suppressioncomponents. A minimum controllable on time of 50 nsfacilitates large step-down conversion ratios, enablingthe direct step-down from a 48-V nominal input tolow-voltage rails for reduced system complexity andsolution cost. The LM5012 operates during inputvoltage dips as low as 6 V, at nearly 100% dutycycle if needed, making it an excellent choice for highperformance industrial applications. With integrated high-side power MOSFET, theLM5012 delivers up to 2.5 A of output current. Aconstant on-time (COT) control architecture providesnearly constant switching frequency with excellentload and line transient response. Additional featuresof the LM5012 include ultra-low IQ and a innovativepeak overcurrent protection, integrated VCC biassupply and bootstrap diode, precision enable andinput UVLO, and thermal shutdown protection withautomatic recovery. An open-drain PGOOD indicatorprovides sequencing, fault reporting, and outputvoltage monitoring. The LM5012 is available in a 8-pin SO PowerPAD™integrated circuit package. The device 1.27-mm pinpitch provides adequate spacing for high-voltageapplications
