TI TPS6281320QWRWYRQ1 Datesheet

The TPS6281320QWRWYRQ1 from Texas Instruments is an AEC‑Q100 qualified, automotive‑grade synchronous step‑down DC/DC converter capable of delivering up to 3A of continuous output current from an input voltage range of 2.75V to 6V. Part of the pin‑to‑pin compatible TPS6281x‑Q1 family, this device is optimized for space‑constrained automotive applications including infotainment, ADAS, and telematics systems. Based on peak current‑mode control, it offers excellent efficiency and ease of use. The switching frequency is adjustable from 1.8MHz to 4MHz or can be synchronized to an external clock, allowing optimization between efficiency and solution size. In light‑load conditions, the device automatically enters power‑save mode (PFM) to maintain high efficiency across the entire load range, while forced PWM mode ensures tight output voltage regulation with ±1% accuracy. The SS/TR pin provides adjustable soft‑start or tracking capability for external sequencing and inrush current limiting. Add

Description:
The TPS6281x-Q1 is a pin‑to‑pin compatible family of 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A automotive synchronous DC/DC step‑down converters. All devices offer high efficiency and are easy to use. The TPS6281x‑Q1 family is based on peak current‑mode control topology. These devices are designed for automotive applications such as infotainment systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The low‑resistance switches support continuous output currents up to 4A even at high ambient temperatures. The switching frequency can be externally adjusted from 1.8MHz to 4MHz, or synchronized to an external clock within this frequency range. In PWM/PFM mode, the TPS6281x‑Q1 automatically enters power‑save mode under light‑load conditions, maintaining high efficiency across the entire load range. The device provides 1% output voltage accuracy in PWM mode, enabling power supply designs with high output voltage precision. The SS/TR pin allows the startup time to be set or enables tracking of the output voltage to an external source. This feature enables external sequencing of different power rails and limits inrush current during startup. The TPS6281x‑Q1 is available in a 3mm × 2mm VQFN package with wettable flanks.
