The DACx760 devices are fully integrated precision 12-bit and 16-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of industrial process control applications. These highly versatile devices are programmable to deliver current outputs ranging from 4-20mA, 0-20mA, or 0-24mA, as well as voltage outputs ranging from 0V to 5V, 0V to 10V, ±5V, or ±10V, with an additional 10% overrange capability (0V to 5.5V, 0V to 11V, ±5.5V, or ±11V). A key differentiator is the ability to enable both current and voltage outputs simultaneously, both controlled by the same data register for simplified system design. The devices feature a power-on reset function ensuring start-up in a known state with both outputs disabled and in high impedance. Programmable zero and gain registers enable digital calibration within the end system, while the output slew rate is also user-configurable via registers. Description:

The DACx760 devices are fully integrated precision 12-bit and 16-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) designed to meet the requirements of industrial process control applications. These devices are programmable to provide a current output ranging from 4-20mA, 0-20mA, or 0-24mA; or a voltage output ranging from 0V to 5V, 0V to 10V, ±5V, or ±10V, with an overrange capability of 10% (0V to 5.5V, 0V to 11V, ±5.5V, or ±11V). The current output and voltage output can be enabled simultaneously and are controlled by the same data register. The devices include a power-on reset function to ensure power-up in a known state (IOUT and VOUT are both disabled and in high-impedance state). The CLR and CLR-SEL pins set the voltage output to zero scale or midscale, and set the current output to the low level when the output is enabled. Zero and gain registers can be programmed to digitally calibrate the device within an end system. Output slew rate is also programmable via registers. The devices can superimpose an external HART® signal on the current output and operate from a single 10V to 36V supply or a dual supply up to ±18V.
