The LPS33HW is an ultra-compact piezoresistivepressure sensor which functions as a digitaloutput barometer. The device comprises asensing element and an IC interface whichcommunicates through I2C or SPI from thesensing element to the application.The sensing element, which detects absolutepressure, consists of a suspended membranemanufactured using a dedicated processdeveloped by ST.The LPS33HW is available in a ceramic LGApackage with metal lid. It is guaranteed to operateover a temperature range extending from -40 °Cto +85 °C. The package is holed to allow externalpressure to reach the sensing element. Gel insidethe IC protects the electrical components fromwater.
