ST ST8500

The SST ST8500 is a highly integrated, programmable power line communication (PLC) modem System on Chip (SoC) designed for smart metering, smart grid, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It features an integrated differential PLC analog front-end including a PGA with automatic gain control, ADC, DAC with transmission pre-driver, digital transmission level control, zero crossing comparator, and supports a PLC signal bandwidth up to 500 kHz. The device includes a high-performance, fully programmable real-time engine dedicated to PLC PHY and real-time MAC protocol management, operating at up to 400 MHz with dedicated code and data SRAM memories. A standard ARM® 32-bit Cortex®-M4F core (up to 200 MHz) handles upper protocol layers and peripherals management, supported by 256 kB of embedded SRAM for code/data, 96 kB of data SRAM, 8 kB of shared RAM, bootloader ROM, and OTP memory for secure key and user information storage.

– 3.3 V external supply voltage for I/O andanalog

– 2.5 V internal linear regulator for analog

– 1.1 V external supply voltage for digital

– Normal, Slow, Doze and low power modes

 Available in QFN56 package

 -40 °C to +105 °C temperature range
