The HDC2080 device is an integrated humidityand temperature sensor that provides high accuracymeasurements with very low power consumption ina small DFN package. The capacitive-based sensorincludes new integrated digital features and a heatingelement to dissipate condensation and moisture.The HDC2080 digital features include programmableinterrupt thresholds to provide alerts and systemwake-ups without requiring a microcontroller tobe continuously monitoring the system. Combinedwith programmable sampling intervals, a low powerconsumption, and a support for a 1.8-V supplyvoltage, the HDC2080 is designed for batteryoperated systems.The HDC2080 provides high accuracy measurementcapability for a wide range of environmentalmonitoring and Internet of Things (IoT) applicationssuch as smart thermostats and smart homeassistants. For designs where printed-circuit board(PCB) area is critical, a smaller CSP package optionis available thru the HDC2010 with complete softwarecompatibility with the HDC2080.For applications with strict power-budget restrictions,Auto Measurement Mode enables the HDC2080to automatically initiate temperature and humiditymeasurements. This feature allows users to configurea microcontroller into deep sleep mode becausethe HDC2080 is no longer dependent upon themicrocontroller to initiate a measurement.
