The TPSM828224SILR is a 2A step-down converter MicroSiP™ power module from the TPSM8282x family, designed to deliver high efficiency in an ultra-compact solution size. It integrates a synchronous step-down converter and an inductor in a 2.0mm × 2.5mm × 1.1mm, 10-pin µSiL package, simplifying design, reducing external components, and saving PCB area . This module operates from an input voltage range of 2.4V to 5.5V and delivers a fixed 3.3V output with up to 2A of output current . It achieves up to 95% efficiency and consumes only 4µA of operating quiescent current in power-save mode, making it well-suited for battery-powered and space-constrained applications .

Description:

The TPSM8282x device family comprises 1A, 2A, and 3A step-down converter MicroSiP™ power modules, optimized for small solution size and high efficiency. The power module integrates a synchronous step-down converter and an inductor, simplifying design, reducing external components, and saving printed circuit board (PCB) area. The TPSM8282x is available in two versions. The first version automatically enters power-save mode to maintain high efficiency under ultra-light load conditions, extending system battery run-time. The second version, TPSM8282xA, enables forced PWM operation to maintain continuous conduction mode at all currents, minimizing output voltage ripple. In PWM mode, the converter operates at a nominal switching frequency of 4MHz. In power-save mode, the device draws a typical quiescent current of 4µA. By employing the DCS-Control topology, the device achieves excellent load transient performance and accurate output voltage regulation. The EN and PG pins support sequencing configurations, enabling flexible system design. The integrated soft-start function reduces the inrush current that the input power supply must deliver. Over-temperature protection and hiccup short-circuit protection make the solution robust and reliable.
