The device is a full bridge motor driver intendedfor a wide range of automotive applications. Thedevice incorporates a dual monolithic high-sidedriver and two low-side switches.Both switches are designed usingSTMicroelectronics’ well known and provenproprietary VIPower® M0 technology that allowsto efficiently integrate on the same die a truePower MOSFET with an intelligentsignal/protection circuitry. The three dies areassembled in SO-16N package on electricallyisolated leadframes.Moreover, its fully symmetrical mechanical designallows superior manufacturability at board level.The input signals INA and INB can directlyinterface the microcontroller to select the motordirection and the brake condition. A SEL0 pin isavailable to address the information available onthe MultiSense to the microcontroller. TheMultiSense pin allows to monitor the motorcurrent by delivering a current proportional to themotor current value.The PWM, up to 20 kHz, allows to control thespeed of the motor in all possible conditions. In allcases, a low level state on the PWM pin turns offboth the LSA and LSB switches.
